Facebook.com Desktop 2018 | How do I force FB app to open in desktop mode?

 Desktop     No comments

Sometimes you just wish to use the Facebook desktop on your mobile browser or app. Here is a tutorial that helps...

Facebook.com Desktop 2018 - How do I force FB app to open in desktop mode?

How do I force FB app to open in desktop mode?

I can get to the desktop version of my main wall feed from WITHIN the facebook app with this link: www.facebook.com/home.php?m2w and from there I can navigate to my selling group> photos> albums, and upload a picture into the sales album.

We used to be able to open a direct link to any album from within the app and it would open the desktop version of the album. Now that isn't working. I can only get the link above to open in desktop and then work my way to the album which is cumbersome.
Is there anyway to tweak the direct link to an album and get it to open in the desktop mode???

Replies to "How do I force FB app to open in desktop mode?"

The desktop mode is hidden in the m.facebook not the app. To find it, open your browser and search for facebook. Open facebook using the browser not the app. You will probably have to log on to your facebook account. It will default into m.facebook that looks a lot like the app. But, there is a pull out menu on the left. Open it and at the VERY bottom of the page in tiny letters is "desktop mode". Touch that and it should open the full desktop version on your mobile device - note - it will be very slow.

Alternatively;

I also find that there is no option in the menu to use the desktop version nowadays, as there was in the past. However, something that just worked for me was to "request desktop site" in the Chrome menu using an Android tablet, then to change the "m" to a "www" in the URL.

Please leave us with a comment if you are finding it difficult to implement this tutorial.

Kindly share if it has helped you!!!

How to delete Facebook Account permanently

Access Facebook, Delete FB, Facebook Delete, Settings     No comments

There are plenty of reasons why you’d want to delete Facebook. Maybe you’re concerned about privacy, maybe you want to rebel against modern social paradigms, or maybe you’re just sick of endless cat memes. Whatever the reason, it’s not too difficult to sod the whole thing off. Here’s how.

Delete or deactivate Facebook account – what’s the difference?

There are two different ways to get your Facebook account offline. The first is deactivating, which means:
  • You can reactivate your account whenever you want
  • People can’t see your Facebook Timeline, or search for you
  • Some information may remain visible (like messages you’ve sent)
  • Facebook saves your account info (like friends and interests) in case you reactivate
But deleting your account is a much more serious matter. If you delete your account:
  • Facebook delays deletion for a few days after the request is made. If you log in during the grace period, the deletion is cancelled
  • You can’t regain access to your Facebook account once it’s deleted
  • It can take up to 90 days for your data that’s stored in backup systems to be deleted. However, your info isn’t accessible on Facebook during this time
  • Some things aren’t stored in your account, like messages that you’ve sent to friends – these will remain active
  • Copies of some material (like log records) may remain in Facebook’s database, but are “disassociated from personal identifiers,” according to the company
Basically, deactivating is a way to cool off from Facebook for a while, while deleting is a permanent solution that you should think carefully about before choosing.

How to deactivate Facebook account

To deactivate your Facebook account, follow these steps:
1. Click the account menu down arrow at the top right of any Facebook page in your web browser
2. Select 'Settings'
3. Choose ‘Security’ in the left column
4. Choose ‘Deactivate your account’, and then follow the steps to confirm your decision
To reactivate your account after deactivating it, simply log into Facebook your e-mail and password. Your profile will be entirely reinstated.

How to delete Facebook account

Deleting your Facebook account is a serious decision, so make sure it’s definitely the right decision for you. Whether you like it or not, social media is ingrained in society, and your Facebook profile can affect friendships, job prospects, and social opportunities. Plus, you may miss out on some memes by deleting Facebook.
If you’re set on binning the social network off for good, click the following link and choose the ‘Delete my account’ option:
  • Delete my Facebook page
Before deleting your account, it may be worth downloading your information from Facebook. To do this, follow these steps:
1. Click the account menu down arrow at the top right of any Facebook page in your web browser
2. Click ‘Download a copy of your Facebook data’ at the bottom of your General Account Settings
3. Choose ‘Start My Archive’

The file that begins downloading will contain your Facebook profile information, so be very careful about where you keep it.

How to Find Out Who Looks at My Facebook Profile

 Facebook     No comments

How to Find Out Who Looks at My Facebook Profile : If you’re a human being and you’re on Facebook, you’ve probably wondered who looks at your profile.

Facebook’s voyeur-identifying techniques are stealth, allowing you to be a voyeur without really feeling like a stalker. Here are some of the ways you can bypass Facebook’s secret algorithmic ways and find out who’s looking at you – and who you’re looking at.

The most obvious yet oft-overlooked is the friends list on the left-rail of your Facebook profile page. According to the Facebook Help Center, this section “might include friends who you interact with the most in Wall posts, comments and mutually attended events. However, Facebook does not select friends to show based on whose profiles you choose to view or who you interact with over messages and chat.”

Science20.com has a different hypothesis, suggesting that the people who show up on the left-rail are the ones who look at you the most over a period of time. Go to your profile and refresh it multiple times, and see for yourself. Another technique suggested by the article for discovering who views you the most is this: Go to the search bar at the top of Facebook.

Type in the first letter of each character in the alphabet. The first name that pops up is either the last person you looked at, or the last person who looked at you.
Facebook also gives you friend suggestions; those are people who may have been looking at your profile.

Friendster Failed Because It Turned Online Gazing Into Stalking - How to Find Out Who Looks at My Facebook Profile

On Facebook, the term “stalker” is harder to peg. On Friendster, it was easy thanks to the “Who’s Viewed You” feature, jokingly referred to as “Who’s Watching Me.” The feature launched out of nowhere on September 30, 2005, and showed people who had been viewing them – and how many times their profile had been viewed since the beginning of that month.

How to Find Out Who Looks at My Facebook Profile

In 2009, Friendster tried to relaunch. It didn’t work out too well.

Users of Facebook, on the other hand, have accepted frictionless sharing, the varied browsing tools and a news feed that keeps delivering fresh content it thinks you want to see.

If these workarounds aren’t doing it for you, and you’re really serious about finding out who looks at your profile, check out this bookmarklet and the WhoIsLive add-on.

HOW TO SEE WHO IS STALKING YOU ON FACEBOOK, INSTAGRAM, TWITTER AND SNAPCHAT

 Facebook     No comments

HOW TO SEE WHO IS STALKING YOU ON FACEBOOK, INSTAGRAM, TWITTER AND SNAPCHAT - Snapchat Stories kicked off a new trend for listing friends that have viewed your updates

LinkedIn is probably the most generous social network of them all for online lurkers

Lots of us would love to know which of our friends and connections are secretly looking at our social media updates without engaging with them but, more often than not, networks deliberately make this information either difficult or impossible to access.

Users can openly express interest with likes, comments and retweets, but we’ll always be curious about the unknown.
HOW TO SEE WHO IS STALKING YOU ON FACEBOOK, INSTAGRAM, TWITTER AND SNAPCHAT

Fortunately, there are a number of straightforward ways to dig up telltale “stalking” signs across the biggest social networks, with some providing a little more insight than others.
Facebook

The sheer number of dodgy-looking ‘Who Viewed My Profile?’ type apps that are available to download show just how desperate a lot of Facebook users are to identify potential secret admirers.

While the site doesn’t allow you to find out who’s visited your profile, it keeps track of the friends who’ve checked out your ephemeral Facebook Stories updates, gathering their names in a list that only you can see.

Assuming that your privacy settings allow people to follow you, you can find a complete list of the people who don't want to be your friend but do want to know what you get up to by clicking the Friends tab on your profile and selecting Followers.

Somewhat unnervingly, Facebook also allows users to create secret lists of friends. As of yet there’s no way to find out if you’re on somebody’s list, but if you are, its creator will get a notification each time you post something.
Twitter

As a social network built more heavily around news and opinions rather than personal pictures and activities, Twitter-stalking doesn’t appear to be quite as much of a thing.

There’s still a way to find out more information about who’s viewing your updates, but it’s not particularly precise.

The microblogging site’s Analytics Dashboard offers up a number of useful insights, including tweet impressions, link clicks, detail expands and the gender, location, age and interests of the people interacting with your posts, but you’re ultimately unlikely to identify a stalker this way.
Instagram

As is the case with Facebook, it’s Instagram’s Stories feature that gives the game away. It works in a similar manner, to Facebook Stories listing the names of the people who’ve viewed your 24-hour posts.

However, making your account public allows people who don’t follow you to watch your Instagram Stories posts too. Only in their case, you’ll know that they went out of their way to see what you've been getting up to. Just like your friends, their names will be included in a list that only you can see.

Making your account private will cut off Stories access for non-followers, and you can also hide your Story from people who actually do follow you.
Snapchat

As most people are aware, both Facebook Stories and Instagram Stories are ripped from Snapchat, which has something of a reputation for being one of the raciest social networks.

Snapchat Stories kicked off the trend for displaying all of the friends that have viewed your pictures and videos, but it goes a step further by also notifying you when any of them screenshot your updates.
LinkedIn

At the opposite end of the spectrum is LinkedIn, but the professional network is arguably the most generous of the bunch for online stalkers. ‘Who’s Viewed Your Profile’ is a core feature, with the site notifying you whenever a fellow user visits your page, and vice versa.

However, you can't view the names of members who've chosen to visit your profile in private mode, even if you’ve paid for a Premium account.

You can try to turn the tables on your stalkers – without coughing up for advanced features – by selecting Anonymous LinkedIn Member under Profile Viewing Options in the privacy menu, though this also hides the identity of every single person who visits your profile.

HOW TO STOP PEOPLE SNOOPING ON YOUR FACEBOOK PAGE

If you notice any strange activity on your account, thankfully, there's a way to easily log out of devices you no longer use and you don't have to be anywhere near computer or smartphone that's causing you trouble.

Apps to See who Looks at Your Facebook Profile 2018

On Facebook's desktop settings, clicking the 'End activity' option next to each sign on will automatically kill the connection, sign you out and disassociate your login from that machine.

On mobile you can achieve the same by clicking the little 'x' icon.

This is a cure to an existing problem rather than preventative measures for future troubles though.
Facebook users should check which machines they have left their page open on

HOW TO PROTECT YOURSELF IN THE FUTURE

If you want to see who might be looking at your account in the future, and stop them at the source, there are ways of achieving this.

Firstly, you can set up log-in alerts. These will notify you whenever someone other than yourself attempts to use your details to log in to Facebook, no matter what machine they're using or where.

To set this up you'll need to visit Settings > Security > Login Alerts on either your computer or phone.

Still not satisfied with your safety? You can build on these alerts with login approvals which require secondary approval before any attempted logins are allowed to go through.

To turn these on, you'll need to point your machine towards Settings > Security > Login Approvals and turn this on. Once activated, login codes will be sent to your phone when you legitimately want to login on a new machine.

With all of this activated, only those you really want to see your Facebook activity will be able to see it.

Please help us by sharing this article with your other Facebook users. Thanks so much!!!

How to delete your Facebook account

How can you delete your Facebook account? We'll show you!

Whether its the way Facebook handles your data, or you're just ready to be done with the drama that can sometimes come with it (seriously, go scroll through your newsfeed right now and tell me there isn't some sort of drama), we can help you either deactivate your profile temporarily or delete it forever.

How to deactivate your Facebook profile temporarily from your iPhone or iPad

Deactivating your Facebook account is easy to do and can be reversed by merely signing into an app or browser again.

If you're wanting some time away but don't want to commit to deleting just yet, here's how:
Launch the Facebook app on your iPhone or iPad.
Tap on More in the bottom navigation. It looks like three lines on top of one another..

Tap on Settings.

Tap Account Settings in the menu that appears on screen.
Tap General at the top of your screen.

Tap Manage Account.

Tap on Deactivate under the Account option.
You will be prompted to enter your password.

Tap Continue and confirm that you'd like to deactivate your account.

That's all there is to it! If you change your mind and decide you'd like to be on Facebook again, simply log in to any Facebook app or through the browser and your profile will be just as you left it.

How to permanently delete your Facebook account
Sign into your Facebook account in any web browser.
Go to https://www.facebook.com/help/delete_account in any web browser.

Click or tap on Delete My Account.

That's it! Your Facebook account will be scheduled for deletion! Before doing this we highly suggest downloading an archive of your Facebook data so you have it.

Facebook also gives you 14 days to change your mind, which is great if you're super indecisive! Signing into your account from any app or other service within the 14 day grace period will automatically cancel the deletion.

Keep that in mind since you'll need to sign out of an iPhone or iPad apps linked to your account in order for the deletion to process correctly.

Conclusion

Have any of you deleted a Facebook account? If so, what made you do it? Was it a personal reason or Facebook's lack of care when it comes to using your private information?

Facebook Help Delete Account

Delete, Delete Facebook, Delete Facebook Group, Delete FB, Facebook Delete     No comments

While Facebook account deletion might look a bit impossible, there are also some possibilities through a bit of help. Before we look at how to remove your account entirely, it's advisable to understand the main differences between deleting an account and deactivating it.
Facebook Help Delete Account - Permanently Erase Facebook
Before you completely delete Facebook, there are three things you need to think about.

First, consider downloading all of your details. You can do this by logging into your Facebook account, then going to your Settings at facebook.com/settings and clicking "Download a copy of your Facebook data" towards the bottom. This makes sure the capability to retrieve all of it later on after you begin removal.

Second, know that even if you completely delete your Facebook does not totally remove every trace of your existence on Facebook.

For example, if you've sent private messages to somebody, they do not suddenly erase off of their Facebook. It'll erase you, but not the material of your messages given that they get kept on the recipient's Facebook also.

Third, it can take up to 90 days to completely delete whatever after you put in the demand. All of your data immediately becomes inaccessible, but it could still stay on Facebook's servers while the purge advances.

If you're sure about deleting, just check out Facebook's Erase My Account page to commence.

If you decide total removal isn't really for you, you might instead desire to deactivate your Facebook. That's an easier process and far less dangerous. Just visit your Facebook settings then click Security on the left-hand side.

Scroll all the way down until you see Deactivate Your Account. Click Edit, then click Deactivate Your Account.

As soon as you shut off your account, all you have to do to reactivate the account is to merely log back in at any time.
